5 Mule Recipes You Have to Try

A Moscow mule is a classic! It’s easy to make as it doesn’t require a lot of ingredients. If you are looking to spice up your mule, you have to try the below recipes.

Mezcal Mule

A smoky version of the classic mule. There are many different varieties of the Mezcal mule. Some use cucumbers, some don’t. Some use passion fruit, some don’t. It really depends on your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 5 oz mezcal
  • 1 ¼ tbsp lime juice
  • 3 cucumber slices (omittable)
  • 1 ¼ tbsp passion fruit puree (omittable)
  • ½ oz agave nectar (omittable)
  • Ginger beer
  • Garnish: cucumber slices, candied ginger, chile powder

Make it

  1. Combine the cucumber slices, and lime juice in a shaker – use a muddler to smash it together
  2. Add the mezcal, passion fruit puree, and agave with some ice
  3. Strain into a glass over ice
  4. Top with the ginger beer
  5. Garnish with the cucumber, ginger, and chile powder.

 

Jalapeno Moscow Mule

Spice up your mule game with jalapenos and mint. This combination gives you a hot and cool feeling.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Vodka (2 oz)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • About 120-150ml ginger beer (4-5 oz)
  • Fresh mint
  • 2 Jalapeno slices – make sure to remove the seeds
  • For garnish: lime wedge, jalapeno slice, and one mint leaf

Make it

  1. Smash the lime juice, mint, and jalapeno slices together in a cocktail shaker – you can use a muddler or a wooden spoon
  2. Add the vodka
  3. Add some ice and shake
  4. Strain the cocktail into a chilled cup – preferably copper, you know, to keep it authentic
  5. Pour in the ginger beer
  6. Garnish with lime, jalapeno, and mint.
  7. Enjoy!

Watermelon Mule

Watermelon and summer are just the perfect combination. This variety is so pretty and pink! Plus, it’s refreshing!

Ingredients

  • 1tbsp lime juice
  • About 120-150ml ginger beer (4-5 oz)
  • 3 chunks of watermelon
  • 45ml vodka
  • For garnish: mint and a slice of watermelon

Make It

  1. Smash the watermelon chunks with the lime juice in a cocktail shaker. You can use a wooden spoon if you don’t have a muddler
  2. Add the vodka
  3. Add ice and shake
  4. Strain it into a glass or copper mug filled with ice
  5. Pour the ginger beer over it
  6. Garnish with the watermelon slice and mint

Mule Driver

It is like a screwdriver, but a muled up version!

Ingredients

  • About 120-150ml ginger beer (4-5 oz)
  • 45ml vodka
  • A splash of orange juice (1 oz will do)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Garnish: Orange slices

Make It

  1. Combine the vodka, orange juice, lime juice in a mug filled with ice.
  2. Pour over the ginger beer
  3. Garnish with the orange slices. To make it more colorful, top it with a lime wedge as well.

Mexican Tequila Mule

A Mexican twist on the traditional mule. Imagine being on the beach in Cancun, having the time of your life, and sipping on a Tequila Mule. Heaven!

Ingredients

  • 45ml tequila
  • 1 ¼ tbsp lime juice
  • 2 1/3 tbsp of simple syrup
  • Ginger beer
  • Garnish: jalapeno slices, mint, lemon wheel

Make it

  1. Mix the tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup with ice
  2. Shake and strain the drink into a glass filled with ice
  3. Top with ginger beer
