You might already know that China is the “factory of the world.” So many products diverse to each other like Nike sneakers, iPad and Barbie dolls, would bear a “Made in China” mark in the label, or somewhere its body or component. Tons of fake and cheaper copies of the hottest gadgets and luxury fashion items can also be found coming from China. Western consumers may ask, “why is everything made in China?”
In addition to that, the Chinese are not just manufacturing stuff for the world in their country. They are also making copies of the famous sights and places around the world inside their country. Surprised? Well probably, you shouldn’t be. But honestly, it’s awesome!
The western part of the city of Shenzhen, China, is home to Window of the World – a 480,000-square-meter mini “global village” theme park. Inside you can pretend that you’re starting the day in London, having lunch in Paris, then watching the sun set over the Opera House in Sydney. If you only move quick, you can see 130 famous landmarks in the world in just one day because the Window to the World amazingly cloned them all!
The entire park is divided into eight major parts: Square of the World, International Street, European Region, Asia Region, Africa Region, Americas Region, Oceania Region and Garden of World Sculptures. The landscapes were built at the ratios of 1:1, 1:5 or 1:15.
Before you even enter the theme park, you can see that the Eiffel Tower dominates the skyline – with a height approximately a third of the Parisian landmark’s actual stature. Expect to see the Triumphal Arch of Paris and the Notre Dame Cathedral just nearby.
At the entrance area of the park, you would see the Square of the World, with the Glass Pyramids of the Louvre Museum in Paris, an ancient Chinese gate, the gate of Temple of Horus and a 360-degree huge stage.
The Manhattan skyline was captured – with the Twin Towers still standing tall – was just a stone’s throw away from Mount Rushmore. The Saint Peter’s Basilica is just in close proximity to the Kremlin. The splendid Taj Mahal in India is just a few meters away from the Grand Palace of Bangkok.
You can see replicas of natural wonders like the Mount Fujiyama of Japan, the Grand Canyon of America and the Niagara Falls of Canada.
European architecture would surely amuse you as you walk through the canals of Piazza San Marco in Venice, the Roman Colosseum, Ancient Athens, Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Tower of London. You can also take a gondola among the Venetian canal!
Of course, you wouldn’t want to miss Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro, America’s native totem poles, Egyptian pyramids, UK’s Stonehenge, and the famous London Bridge! There’s just too much copies of global attractions you can see here!
