Destinations You Should Jot Down On Your Bucket List

Our world is a big place and it is hard to visit every single destination all at once. Therefore, it is important to do your proper research and pick some of the top destinations that you should prioritize visiting. Our world offers some magical places that all people should see and be inspired by. Some places are magical, some ancient, and some offer crazy experiences that you will not forget. To avoid cluttering up your bucket list, which can be neverending for most people, you need to break down whether you want a more adventurous, historic, or party vibe when you visit these destinations. There are destinations that might fulfill all three of these boxes with a little bit of a travel in-between. Having said that, the following paragraphs will mention some destinations that everyone should have on their bucket list. 

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Brazil is one of the world’s most awe inspiring cultures. From the delicious food, to the magnificent costumes during carnival, the amazing beaches and terrain, Brazil offers it all. This is definitely one of the few destinations that offers a little bit of everything for anyone, whether you are looking for an adventure, beach vacation, or historic exploring, 

Particularly, Rio is the most visited city in South America receiving more than 2.8 million international tourists per year. This city has been named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to a mix of natural beauty, urban culture and architecture. The city has world class hotels and resorts and around 80 kilometers of beaches, including the world famous Copacabana beach. Beautifully shaped mountain peaks covered in lush green vegetation overlooking the hustling and bustling streets of Rio are some of the most visited attractions. On top of one the Corcovado 700 meter tall mountain peak is the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the new 7th wonders of the world. This 30 meter tall statue with arms wide open stretching 28 meters was sculpted by Paul Landowski and built by Heitor da Silva Costa and Albert Caquot. 

Rio de Janeiro is a great destination to fulfill all of your bucket list goals and should definitely be prioritized by anyone. 

Petra, Jordan

If you are into history and jaw dropping architecture, the city of Petra located in present day Jordan is one of the world’s most identifiable masterpieces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This popular destination is known for its ancient red coloured city fully carved out on the cliff face and innovative water management system. Petra was built by the Nabateans around 500 years before christ. The city was taken over by the Greek Empire around 300 BC, the Roman Empire around 106 AD, and finally the Byzantines who ruled the city for over 300 years until 650 AD. Petra was rediscovered in 1812, the rose-red city soon after attracted archaeologists and scientists rendering it to be one of the new 7th wonders of the world. The red-rose sandstone palaces house elaborate tombs and temple architectures. This infusion of hellenistic architectural facades combined with nabataean architecture represent a unique artistic and engineering achievement of the ancient world.

Rome the capital of Italy has been known as an historic destination housing some of the marvels of the long lived Roman Empire. The city has so many antiquity sites that it is hard to know where to go first. This depends on one’s interest of course, Rome is a metropolitan city that is not just popular for those that want to see historic sites but also for those that are into food tasting like enjoying a pizza or famous italian pasta on a sidewalk restaurant on Rome’s stone paved streets. 

The Colosseum is one of the largest ancient structures in the world built in 80 AD and used for theatrical performances, festivals, circuses, and gladiator games. The Arch of Constantine is also a popular historic site erected by the Roman senate. Other historic sites worth visiting include the Vatican City, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the Fountain of Trev, the Spanish Steps. 

Rome includes many wonderful squares called pizzas and historic churches. One definitely needs properly planned walking shoes and patience to fully appreciate Rome. It should be in everyone’s bucket list to visit. 

As you can already guess, making a bucket list can be never ending. However, if one starts with the above mentioned destinations they can definitely get a glimpse of everything as these destinations have something to offer for everyone.
