Gareth Bale rejoins Tottenham on season-long loan

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has rejoined Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan after remaining seven years at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to talkSPORT.

The 31-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to England, with the speculations intensifying after his agent said he wants a return to his previous club. And now as per the Daily Mail, he has been granted his wish as Tottenham have signed him on a loan deal. The Lilywhites have accepted a £13 million pay packet for the Welshman, which will partly be funded by the Spanish giants.

It looks unclear when the Premier League side will announce their new signing, however, it is expected to happen after they sort out a few small contractual issues.

Spurs began their new campaign in a limp manner as they suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Everton in the opening match and negotiations reportedly stepped up after talks between Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho.

The Mail report further says that Bale’s deal will be deemed as a separate transaction as the Lilywhites have also been linked with a move for Sergio Reguilon amid Manchester United interest.

The talented left-back is set to undergo a medical and according to report via online baccarat will pen a five-year deal with the London side in a deal worth £27million.

The Portuguese manager distanced himself from rumours that associated the club with Gareth, although the 57-year-old conceded that he is a big fan of the winger.

“I tried to sign him for Real Madrid which was not possible to do during my time there,” He said in his press conference.

“But the president followed my instinct and my knowledge and the season I left he brought Gareth to the club.

“There is no secret on that. Even Gareth knows that. But I’m not going to speak about him anymore because he is a Real Madrid player.”

Bale’s return to Tottenham on loan is definitely a good one for the North London team and would further boost their chances a return to Europe whilst helping the team contend for the Premier League title this season.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Bale’s Real Madrid No.11 shirt has already been reassigned as the Spanish giants waste no time in moving on from the Welshman.

Although the 31-year-old then has another year on his contract after this season, there would now seem to be very little chance that he will pull on the Los Blancos shirt again after spending seven seasons in the Spanish capital.

Bale won two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies during his time at Madrid, but the latter seasons of his stay at the club were blighted with issues over form and fitness as well as clashes with manager Zinedine Zidane.

La LigaAlthough the Tottenham loan is not official at the time of writing, Real have seemingly moved swiftly to demonstrate that they have moved on.

The club’s squad list on the La Liga website now shows Spain international Marco Asensio as the club’s new No.11, with Brazilian youngster Vinicius Jr taking his old No.20 shirt. Intriguingly, Bale hasn’t been removed from the squad altogether but has instead been assigned the unfamiliar No.25 shirt as shown below:

The move comes after Real were said to be ‘erasing’ Bale from the club by the Spanish press, who noticed that the Welshman was not being included in any club media as the players returned to pre-season training.

Bale’s shirts had also been removed from a display at the club shop, while he was also not in any of the promotional images for this season’s kit.

The forward will hope that a return home to Tottenham and Premier League will prove to be just what he needs as he bids to kickstart his career ahead of next summer’s European Championships with Wales.

With Gareth Bales’s return to White Hart Lane, so many Spurs’ supporters would be keen to see what the Welshman will bring to the team.
