General Guide to Home Derma Rolling

You may not know that a derma roller is one of the best skin care tools available for home use. You can simply buy a derma roller DIY kit and have a go at it anytime in the comfort in your own home. You don’t even have to pay for a professional derma care just to achieve the smooth skin that you desire. In fact, you may have known that even professional skin care centers use derma rollers too.  If you want to learn more about Derma Rolling check out one of our favorite sites – The Glamorous Woman and their posts on Derma Rolling.

Using the derma roller is not a guarantee that it will make your wrinkles, open pores, stretch marks, scars, acne marks, cellulite, etc. completely disappear – in other words, it doesn’t work like pure magic. But it helps in reducing them, or at least making them to appear less visible. It only takes a lot of uses before you can see the results, so you really must use the derma roller regularly, diligently and patiently.

So, to those who ask on how to achieve the smooth, supple skin and near-flawless skin, you can follow these three basic things below:

1) Derma rolling! Needless to say, the derma roller really makes a difference to your skin. For removing stretch marks on different body parts, many use Emla to numb the skin before rolling so that they could roll it hard.

2) Vitamin C serum. It acts as a “buffer” between the needles of the derma roller and your skin, preventing the stinging sensation. Many people make their own vitamin C serum by using vitamin C powder. Serum is usually applied before rolling.

3) Oil serum. While there are commercially-made oil serums, many people prefer to make their own. Homemade serums consist of a variety of oils which may include: carrot seed, cannabis, evening primrose, mustard, and rose hip seed, among many others.

After rolling, many people apply retinyl acetate or vitamin A.

As implied before, it takes a lot of uses before you will be able to see the results – they can be more noticeable in a matter of weeks, while it may take a few months in other procedures. So, you really have to be patient when using the derma roller.

Aside from wrinkles, open pores, cellulite, stretch marks and acne marks, a derma roller can also help in dealing with other conditions such as:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Hair loss
  • Sun damage
  • Rosacea (redness of the skin)
  • Dark circles

How about you? Are you using a derma roller as well? If so, what skin condition are you trying to treat with, and how are the results, so far?
