Know The Basic Rules
Roulette will begin as the players make their bets. The dealer will then throw a ball into the roulette wheel as it spins, as the ball spins you can usually still make bets, however, there is a cut-off point. At which the dealer will announce no more bets to be made.
The ball will land on a number and color in the wheel, and if there are winners, they will collect their winnings.
What Are The Types Of Bets You Can Make?
You will bet on roulette using chips that you purchase. You can place your chips on any number.
There are inside bets, which are placed on one number or more. Then there are outside bets, which will be placed on sections such as : red, black, odd, even, dozens, and so on.
You can make other bet combinations, but these are the primary ones, and the ones we recommend starting with as a beginner.
Inside Bet Types
There are names for the types of bets you can place, let’s look at the inside bet types!
Straight up: This is when you bet on one number by placing your chip on that number. If you play one number, the payouts are usually 35-1.
Split: A split is placed on two numbers, placing your chip between the two numbers next to each other. The odds for this are 17-1.
Street: A street bet is when you bet on 3 numbers. You place your chip on the border of the three numbers. This has a winning payout of 11-1.
Corner: Corner bets are placed over four numbers that make a square. Place the chip where all four numbers meet. This play has a winning payout of 8-1.
Five number: A five number bet is only found on American Roulette wheels. You play the 00, 0, 1, 2, and 3. This has a payout at 6-1.
Line: A line bet is when you place a bet on the border to play 6 numbers. This play has a payout of 5-1.
Outside Bet Types
Outside bets are usually safer and more likely to give you a win, however, they also have a lower payout than inside bets. Here are the types of bets you can make.
Column: Column bets are when you play a row on the board. Place the chip at the end of the row you think will get you a win. This has a payout win at 2-1.
Dozens: Dozens is just what it sounds like, it is a bet on 12 numbers. These numbers are layout numbers. You can place the chip on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd dozens. This also has a payout of 2-1
Odds/Evens: Odd or even bets are placed on only odd or only even numbers. There are 18 of each. Note that zeros do not count in this. The payout for this bet is even at 1:1.
Highs/Lows: High and low bets are placed on the highest 18 numbers or lowest 18 numbers. This means you either bet on 1-18 or 19-36. Zeroes do not count. It also has an even money payout.
Blacks/Reds: In this bet you bet on reds or blacks. This bet is also even money upon payout
The Rules Of Roulette
