Interesting Facts About Missouri

The St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and a big arch are a couple of the first things to come to mind when you think of Missouri.

The Gateway Arch is a 630 ft monument in St. Louis built in 1965.  Its covered by stainless steel and is the world’s tallest arch as well as the tallest monument in the western hemisphere.  It was built as a monument to the westward expansion of the United States.

The meaning of Missouri is the “Town of the Large Canoes” which comes from the Sioux Indians.
