Taylor Alison Swift

You may not realize it but the 25-year-old country-pop superstar is actually that tall. At 5’11”, she may easily pass off as a runaway fashion model. The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is famous for her hit songs “Our Song,” “Love Story,” “You Belong to Me,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Shake It Off,” and “Blank Space.” You definitely don’t wanna mess with country cutie Taylor Swift. First off, she’ll probably write a song about you. Secondly, at 5’11”, she could probably take you in a fight.

Charlize Theron

No wonder the South-African-born Hollywood actress, who stands at 5’10”, first started as a fashion model. She worked her way up to become one of the finest actresses. She arrived at the peak of her career when she won an Oscar Best Actress for her performance in the 2003 Monster, and received another Oscar Best Actress nominee for her role as Josey Aimes in the 2005 North Country. That’s beauty and talent in one big package!

Brooke Shields

Brook Shields first became a child model before she embarked on an acting career. At age 12 she made her film debut in Pretty Baby, which became controversial because of her nude scenes, although she was critically praised for her performance. After gaining notriety from the film, she continued to be a model into her teenage years and became a famous model for Calvin Klein jeans, showing off her long, endless legs.

She went on to star movies such as Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. After her graduation from Princeton University, she returned to acting. Although her film roles had become minor, she had a successful TV acting career with her sitcom Suddenly Susan from 1996 to 2000.

Gwyneth Paltrow

At 5’9″, Gwyneth Paltrow may be “smallest” in this list. But the Academy Award winning actress, singer, and author has a large body of work behind her. She gained early notice through her films Seven and Emma, and played starring roles in Sliding Doors and A Perfect Murder. Paltrow reached the peak of her career by starring in the period comedy-drama Shakespeare in Love in 1998, for which she won an Oscar Best Actress award. Paltrow has played supporting roles as well, in several films such as The Talented Mr. Ripley, Shallow Hal, The Royal Tenenbaums, the Iron Man movies, and Proof.

Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova is a Russian pro tennis player who is ranked #2 by the Women’s Tennis Association as of October 2014. She has won 34 career titles and five Grand Slam titles — including two at the French Open and one each at the Australian Open, US Open, and Wimbledon. Sharapova, who represented Russia at the summer Olympic Games in London in 2012, won silver there. She has also won three doubles titles.

With all these achievements, it’s given that she’s quite exceptional in this sport, and considering her height, she is quite quick on the court. But with her also-exceptional tallness, it’s a wonder why she chose to play tennis instead of basketball.

John Mayer

John Mayer, with a hulking frame, could have entered sports as a power forward or a linebacker, but he followed his passions in music. Like other successful musicians, Mayer had short-lived acts and played at various local clubs, gaining a following while honing his skills. His two albums — Room for Squares (2001) and Heavier Things (2003) — became his breakthrough successes, and brought him fame. Since then Mayer has been under the spotlight. His fame has extended from music to his other career pursuits (writing and TV hosting) to dating female Hollywood celebrities. He is also regarded as one of The 10 Best Guitarists of the 2000s because of his amazing guitar skills that he sometimes cannot showcase in his top pop hits.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively is an American actress and model who achieved widespread fame for her roles in the television series Gossip Girl. She also appeared in many films such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Green Lantern. Despite being already tall, Lively says she really loves wearing high heels. It wouldn’t be surprising that the she is now married to actor Ryan Reynolds, whose height is 6’2″.

Khloe Kardashian

Whereas Kim Kardashian has a small stature (at 5’2″), her sister Khloe is otherwise towering at 5’10”. Kardashian and her family were brought to popularity via the reality TV series on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Like her sisters Kim and Kourtney, Kardashian’s life off the camera is much followed by the public as it is on camera.

The socialite is involved in the fashion and retail industry, just like her sisters, launching several clothing lines as well as fragrances.

Nicole Kidman

Kidman is an Australian actress and film producer. She was able to gain notice not only from her native country but also overseas, through her breakthrough film role in 1989 Dead Calm. She then appeared in more films such as Days of Thunder, Far and Away, and Batman Forever. Kidman went on to become successful in her acting career through the blockbuster musical Moulin Rouge! and The Hours, where she portrayed Virginia Woolf. Kidman’s performance in the latter film earned her many awards, including an Oscar Award for best actress.

Bob Saget

The towering comedian and actor Robert Lane “Bob” Saget has earned quite a reputation as a family-friendly figure through his work in Full House and America’s Funniest Videos. But you’ll be quite surprised to find Saget has a not-so-squeaky-clean side once you see him throwing ribald jokes in his stand-up comedy routines.

Saget’s most recent work is in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, where he provided the voice of the future Ted Mosby, one of the show’s characters.

The lawyer and current First Lady of the United States is also seen as a fashion icon and role model for women. She and her husband, President Barack Obama, have a well-documented fitness regimen. Mrs. Obama is also an avid exerciser and an advocate of physical activity and healthy eating — no wonder she has a fit and toned body that you didn’t see in previous First Ladies.

Born Ciara Princess Harris, singer and actress Ciara rose to recognition in 2004 via her debut album Goodies, which went triple platinum. However, her follow-ups became less successful. Howard Stern

Howard Stern set his sights on pursuing a radio career when he was only five years old. He was on the path of making his dreams come true by starting to work at a campus station while still studying at a university. He further honed his hosting skills and on-air personality while having stints at different local radio stations in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, and Michigan, among others. He is now one of the most popular radio personalities in America. He is the host of The Howard Stern Show, which was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2005, and is now exclusively owned by Sirius XM Radio.

Stern branched out in other career pursuits to television hosting, writing, photography and acting. He is also frequently seen watching the New York Knicks games from the sidelines. Considering his height, he would have been a basketball player had he actively taken up the sport.

Wendy Williams

The tall actress, host, and comedienne is best known for her syndicated talk show The Wendy Williams Show. Apart from her rather imposing physical presence, Williams is also notorious for her on-air altercations with celebraties. She has also written several books and launched a clothing and wig line. Williams has said that many people think she was “born a man” due to her tall frame and strong features.

Stacy Keibler

Don’t mess with this blonde beauty, guys. First, she is quite lofty, standing at 5’11”. Second, she was once a professional wrestler, so she might put up a real match with you at any time. She began her professional wrestling career as part of the dance troupe the Nitro Girls in World Championship Wrestling, then moved on to real  tussle in the ring, while wearing sexy lingerie. This Amazonian actress is best known for her roles in Pulp Fiction (which she was nominated for Oscar Best Actress), The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Batman & Robin, Gattaca and Les Miserables. She also appeared on the miniseries Hysterical Blindness in 2002, which she won a Golden Globe Award.

At 5’11” (or some sources say 6’0), Thurman clearly enjoys towering over men who include her shorter exes Ethan Hawke and Gary Oldman.

Rupert Everett

You think that Rupert Everett is of average height but in reality he is quite tall at 6’4″. The British actor and writer first gained recognition when he was cast in a play by Julian Mitchell, Another Country, and also appeared in its film version in 1984. He played as an openly gay pupil in both the play and the movie. In real life, it took quite a long time for Everett before deciding to come out as gay, something that he feared would damage his career. Instead, he went on to have quite a successful career in Hollywood, starring in films such as My Best Friend’s Wedding (where he played as a gay friend to Julia Roberts’ character) An Ideal Husband, The Next Best Thing and Shrek movies.

Malia Obama

Malia Obama (born on January 4, 1998 in Chicago) clearly takes after her mother, whose height is 5’11. At only 16 years old, she is already towering at 5’11 too! And she could grow even taller as she ages. Malia and kid sister Sasha were named two of the 25 most influential teens of 2014 by Time magazine.

Josh Duhamel

No wonder this tall cutie first worked as a fashion model, and appeared as an extra on music videos. He landed his first acting role in the ABC soap opera All My Children and then to NBC series Las Vegas. Then he moved on to films, the best-known of these are the first three films of the Transformers franchise.

Duhamel has been married for five years to the Black-Eyed Peas lead vocalist Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie, whose height is 5’2″.

John Corbett

The behemoth actor and country music singer received his first wide recognition in his role as Chris Stevens in the long running 90s sitcom Northern Exposure, as well as his role as Aidan in Sex and the City. He also reprised this role for the sequel of Sex and the City 2. You may also remember him as the tall and handsome leading man in the sleeper hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002). Apart from acting, Corbett has released two country music albums, John Corbett and Leaving Nothin’ Behind.

Aisha Tyler

The towering actress, comedian, author, producer, writer and director is best known as the current co-host of The Talk, and host of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Tyler is the daughter of a teacher and photographer, but her parents divorced when she was 10. Her father subsequently raised her on his own. She garnered initial recognition for her role as Andrea Marino in the series Ghost Whisperer, as well as for providing the voice of Lara Kane in the adult animated series Archer. Tyler also gained further recognition for her role as Mother Nature in the Santa Clause film franchise.
