Why has VR gaming stagnated?

Standing in 2018, one can say that it has been quite a while since the concept of virtual reality emerged in the market. However, if you are a longtime gamer, you must remember the excitement that VR or virtual reality brought with itself. It was unlike anything that people had seen before, and it fascinated even hardcore traditional gamers at first.

VR in the gaming industry:

Since then, VR has taken different forms in different industries, but gaming remains one of the most significant areas to use VR enhancement. In fact, games featuring virtual realities have been experimented with by major companies. The games have received mixed reviews over the years because they could not meet or exceed the sky high expectations of gamers.

When fully immersive VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive hit the market recently, the hype around virtual reality resurfaced. The significant advancement in the fields of computer processing and graphical fidelity since VR first emerged allowed people to have a truly fleshed out VR experience now.

In the years 2015 and 2016, the gaming and entertainment industries were expecting a boom in the popularity of VR because of the tech support it now had.

Although VR grew and became more well-known among gamers, it did not end up dominating the digital entertainment as many had hoped.  Its also critical to know how to build a gaming PC and a good gaming monitor as well.

The slow adoption rate of VR and its equipment like headsets have caused some developers to rethink their strategies. They cannot see any long-term profit in supporting VR. In fact, the momentum of VR is only decreasing with each day and investors do not know how to undo it.  Be sure to go here for info on VR.

Why is VR stagnant?

There are quite a few reasons behind the stagnancy of the VR technology. For one, you still cannot play online casino slots games like Mummy’s Gold online slots on it. The ways you can use it is still limited.

The cost of VR does not fit the budget of the average gaming community. Some of the best VR headsets will set you back around $1000 which is not something you can always justify. This piece of technology is a luxury and hence does not receive a lot of support.

There is no doubt that the prices of VR hardware have fallen in comparison to earlier years, but they are still pretty high up there.

If you are investing in VR, then you must create an appropriate space in your house to get the most out of it.

Unless you are a hardcore gamer, you will not want to go into the trouble of committing to VR. While the idea is unique, it is not a must-have for light gaming.

Popular VR games do not match up to the experience offered by triple-A video games. If you like big studio release games, then VR is not for you.

While VR gives a 360-degree view to players, it still hasn’t come up with a fluid way to move around virtual environments because of which players never feel completely immersed in the game during playtime. Using a controller or teleportation can disrupt the gaming experience.

The lack of VR games in the market which promise a fantastic unmatched experience discourages people from investing in the hardware required. Unless the industry comes up with something mind-blowing soon, it will be difficult to keep it afloat.
