How to Make an Original Cocktail

views

We’ll be the first to admit that we are not mixologists. We don’t know all the fancy ways to make drinks or what the best type of glassware is for each cocktail, but we do know good from bad and which ingredients work together. What we also know is that everyone has a favourite drink (or two), and it’s important to keep those stocked up in our bar cart for guests who visit.

But what if you could take some of your favourite recipes and create an original cocktail using items you already have on hand? That, my friends, is a home run. Here are six steps to making an original cocktail using spring water:

1. Gather the Ingredients

You don’t have to go out and buy every single ingredient in order to make your own cocktails at home — most things you probably already have on hand! For example, if you want to make a margarita: tequila (or another type of alcohol), lime juice (or another type of citrus), triple sec (or another type of liqueur) and margarita mix (for added sweetness). You can also add simple syrup if you want something a little sweeter. Suppose you don’t have any liqueur, no problem! You can easily make your own by mixing sugar and water in a 1:1 ratio and boiling it until the sugar has dissolved.

2. Chill the Spring Water and the Shot Glass

Before you start making cocktails, it is important to make sure that all of your ingredients are properly chilled. This will help ensure that your drinks are refreshing and cool. Fill a large bowl or pitcher with ice and water and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, take your shot glass and place it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.

3. Rim the Shot Glass

Rimming the shot glass with salt (or sugar) is optional but definitely makes for a tastier margarita! To do this, simply pour some lime juice onto a small plate. Spread it around so that it covers most of the surface area. Then sprinkle salt (or sugar) onto another small plate. Dip the rim of your chilled shot glass into the lime juice, then immediately into the salt (or sugar).

4. Pour in the Rum, Tequila, and Vodka Each a Third of the Way Up

Next, it’s time to start pouring in your booze! To make a traditional margarita, you will need tequila, rum, and vodka. You can use any type or brand of each liquor that you like. Pour the tequila into the shot glass first, filling it about a third of the way up. Then do the same with the rum and vodka, layering each liquor on top of the last.

5. Top It Off with Margarita Mix

Once you have added all three types of liquor to your glass, it’s time to top off the drink with margarita mix. You can use any brand or flavour of margarita mix that you like. Fill the glass the rest of the way up with margarita mix, and then give it a good stir so that all of the ingredients are evenly mixed together.

6. Add Ice to All of It

The last step is to add some ice to your glass. You can either use regular ice cubes, or Margarita glasses are fun, festive, and perfect for serving up all sorts of delicious cocktails. If you’re looking for a tasty tequila drink that will be sure to impress your guests, try making layered shots in them. Check out online beer glass sellers as well.

Spring water is a great ingredient for cocktail hour! They can be used to make all sorts of different drinks, and they’re perfect for adding a bit of extra flavour to your cocktails. If you want to try something new this spring, consider using spring water in your next cocktail recipe.
