Things you need to play golf

One of the many doubts that those who want to start playing golf tell us is related to equipment. So we will give you a brief guide on the materials that a player wants to start playing golf needs and if you want to know more about this golf gears then feel free to visit golf gear hub.

What equipment do I need to start practicing?

The first thing we must have in our hands is a glove. Right-handed people need a glove for the left hand and the other way around for left-handed people.

Gloves must be made of an excellent material that allows us to keep the touch and sensitivity. You can find perfect gloves, both in leather and synthetic, but when purchasing them (especially if you are a beginner), you should note that they are reinforced, especially in the fleshy part of the palm.

The sticks

To get started in golf, it will be enough to start with a club. You can begin by renting it every time you go to practice, and once you get into the habit, you can buy your stick. There are new ones from € 30, although you can also buy some good second-hand clubs.

And if we see that the fans are increasing, it is also possible to buy a set of half a pack of clubs and a transport bag since you will need more clubs in a short time.

There are golf experts like Fast Learners who are more than happy to teach you all the basics when it comes to playing golf. Sure you browse off the internet for some tips but having professional help would be a great way to learn especially if you have lesser time to spend for learning.

What type of kit is right for me?

“Excellent golf equipment is what all excellent players need. Good golf equipment is what good players need. A normal golf kit is what most of us need”.

Our advice is to buy the kit you need, although we understand that sometimes it is difficult to choose between so much variety.

In the last 20 years, golf equipment has undergone a brutal transformation thanks to advances and technological studies. We can find ourselves faced with the difficulty of choosing a simple ball since today there is a model for each type of player.

The clubs are researched, designed, and manufactured, looking for maximum performance. Golf gloves, shoes, team golf bags, and clothing are made with the utmost attention to detail.

But the decision to buy golf equipment or another must be based on three simple premises :

  • The ability to play golf
  • The money we can invest in the kit
  • The goals we want to achieve in golf.

Essential gear for the average fan

By “average amateur,” we understand those golfers who have chosen golf as a sport, a relaxed and enjoyable way of doing physical activity. If you are one of those who come to the golf course for the simple pleasure of walking and practicing your swing, we recommend that you start by buying a slightly basic kit (just under € 1000).

You will need for a minimum of complete equipment:

  • A driver
  • A wood 3
  • Irons 3 to 9, sand, putter, tees
  • Balls
  • Shoes
  • A bag.

If we want to add additional material, we should have:

  • Wood 5 and 7
  • Umbrella
  • Pitching wedge
  • Lob wedge,
  • Rain gear
  • Cart.

If your average hits per round are between 85 and 120, it is unnecessary to purchase state-of-the-art equipment. Also, any ball will be valid for the game until you start to break the 80-stroke barrier. From here on, it would be an excellent time to consider buying something more specialized.

If you are one of those who take golf more seriously or if you can afford to invest a little more in your equipment, then you should follow these recommendations.

If you are taking classes, it is not recommended that you buy new equipment until you have received several courses since the swing will change and different swings require different equipment.

  • Make a list of everything you need to buy, from shoes to rain gear. Your teacher can guide and advise you on everything you need.
  • Before buying, get advice on the latest equipment, the differences between products (e.g., the difference between steel or granite).
  • Visit several stores and see the material they have
  • Very important; test the equipment.

Remember that state-of-the-art equipment will not make you break the 100-hit barrier. If you are a beginner or your goal is to improve, it is better to invest more in classes and less in equipment.
