Tips for E-Cigarette Care

Are you new to the e-cigarette community? If you want to stay committed to this switch, knowing how to take care of your unit is going to be crucial to the process. Of course, having the right kind of product is ultimately the first step, but maintenance is what will help you stay on track because it allows you to be consistent with daily use. While e-cigarettes have the potential to benefit some people and harm others, scientists still have a lot to learn about whether cigarette electronique is effective for quitting smoking.

Here’s a quick guide on how you can better take care of your e-cigarette so you can enjoy it for longer.

Store Your Unit Properly

It may be small and handy, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be cared for properly. The correct way to store your e-cig is by standing it upright so that the airspace does not get flooded with the liquid.

Of course, it’s common sense for you to keep it away from high temperatures, which includes exposure to direct sunlight, and also water. These will help keep your unit in good shape.

Clean the Atomiser and Clearomiser Regularly

These parts do need to be replaced anywhere between four to 12 weeks at a time. They’re easy to get, fortunately, especially through manufacturers and suppliers like Firefly 2 Canada. While that may be the case, however, it would still be good to be able to extend their lifetime.

To do that, you need to take the atomiser and the clearomiser apart. Do note that some e-cig units have built-in clearomisers, though, so make sure your e-cig’s clearomiser can be taken out before you start pulling it apart.

Cleaning them is simple. All you need is to wash with hot (not boiling) water, to make sure the particles are washed off clean, and then leave it to dry for 24 hours. After that, you can put them back together again. Since it will need that much time to dry, it would be a good idea to get extra parts that you can switch to so that you don’t have to go without your unit on cleaning days.

Clean the Battery Terminal

Since you’re doing a unit clean, might as well make it a thorough one. Dirty battery terminals can impact the performance of the clearomiser, so you need to clean them out as well. You only need a cotton bud, anyway, so it doesn’t take too much work.

Many e-cig owners are surprised to find that their units still have a lot of fight left in them, just that the battery terminal needs cleaning. So if one day it feels like your e-cig is not working as well as it should, try cleaning the battery terminal first before throwing in the towel.

Mind your E-Liquid Levels

Last but not least, check to make sure your unit has enough e-liquid in it, otherwise the atomiser wouldn’t be able to draw from any source of liquid to do its job. What this does, however, is to put your atomiser at risk of a dry burn, rendering it useless.

As you can see, these tips are all relatively simple, so there really shouldn’t be any reason for you to skip doing them. With proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy our e-cigarette for a longer time.
